Are we in a simulation?

The concept of reality as a digitized simulation is a subject of debate in both the fields of philosophy and science. The renowned theoretical physicist Neil deGrasse Tyson has posited that we likely live in a simulation, but only if we turn out to be one of the many civilizations born from a future advanced species.

The philosopher Nick Bostrom's notion of 'The Simulation Hypothesis' suggests that the probability that we are living in base reality instead of a simulation is quite low, as if advanced civilizations are probable, they will likely create many simulations of their own, meaning we would likely exist in a simulated reality far more often than a non-simulated one.

As for whether or not we are specifically in such a simulation at the moment, that, much like the answer to the age-old query of why we exist or the nature of the cosmos beyond our perception, remains elusively outside our scope of empirical knowledge and speculation at present. Our current scientific capabilities can't definitively confirm or refute such a theoretical possibility. However, ongoing advancements in technology is gradually expanding our explorative capabilities to examine even the most complex and elusive questions of existence.
